Where in the world are we going?

"Don't tell me how educated you are, tell me how much you have traveled." Mohammed

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? How would you decide? Darts at a map? Places in a hat? Places without a McDonalds? I still ive in hope despite seeing a Starbucks in the Forbidden City (of all the places, the clues in the name).

We decided to focus on experiences we wanted to have, people we wanted to see and places we wanted to see. We also wanted to mix it up between comfort and backpacking, so that we didn’t spend an entire year with wet wipes and chewable toothbrushes (never try them, they are rubbish).

So we chose two months in Asia (Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam), two months in Australia (Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne), one month in New Zealand, three and half months in South America (Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador), two months in Central America (to be decided - thoughts welcome!) and a month and half in North America (LA, Viva Las Vegas, New York, Toronto).

We’re also hoping to catch up with lots of friends and family along the way (not that I’m worried about spending so much time with my soon to be wife!).

And so it begins...

"A journey is like marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you control it.“ John Steinbeck

And so we begin the final preparations for the next 18 months of our life! For those of you who don't know, 2012 will see us marry, and then embark on a 12 month trip around the world! Now thats what we call a honeymoon.

We've decided to use getting married as an excuse to put our careers on hold and see the world. But we'd like to do it a little bit differently, funding our trip through businesses we set up in the UK, and money making opportunities along the way. If you want to follow how we do it/did it, you can follow this blog to receive email updates when it is updated.
